Terms of Service

Last updated 1 October 2026

These terms govern your use of the Squidlor website, APIs, SDKs, smart contracts, MCP endpoint, AI agent interfaces, plugins and related services. Please read them together with our privacy policy.

Squidlor is non-custodial. We never hold your assets or keys. Anything we build for you to sign is an unsigned transaction; whether to sign it, and the consequences of doing so, are yours.

01Agreement to these terms

"Squidlor", "we", "us" and "our" refer to the entity operating the Squidlor unified oracle data layer. By accessing or using any of the services, you agree to these terms. If you use the services on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it, and "you" includes that organisation. If you do not agree, do not use the services.

Enterprise customers with a signed agreement are governed by that agreement where it conflicts with these terms.

02The services

Squidlor provides:

  • aggregated price and event data drawn from third-party oracle networks, exchanges and on-chain sources, served through smart contracts, HTTP APIs, streams and embeddable charts;
  • developer tooling, including SDKs, API keys, webhooks, documentation and a builder portal;
  • AI interfaces, including a chat product, an MCP endpoint and plugins for third-party assistants, that answer questions over that data and can prepare unsigned blockchain transactions for you to sign in your own wallet.

We may add, change or withdraw features at any time. Features described as beta, preview or experimental may be unstable and are provided for evaluation only.

03Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if higher, and legally able to enter into contracts. You may not use the services if you are located in, or ordinarily resident in, a jurisdiction where doing so is prohibited, or if you are subject to sanctions that prohibit us from dealing with you.

04Accounts and API keys

Some features require an account or an API key. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under them. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you believe a key has been compromised; we may rotate or revoke it. Usage is metered per key, and rate limits apply to anonymous and keyed access alike.

05Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • circumvent rate limits, authentication or metering, or share a key to do so;
  • scrape, bulk-export or resell the data except as our documentation or a written agreement permits;
  • use the services to manipulate markets, front-run, or attack any blockchain, oracle network or protocol;
  • interfere with the operation or security of the services or probe them for vulnerabilities without our written consent;
  • use the services in violation of applicable law, including sanctions, anti-money-laundering and securities law;
  • misrepresent Squidlor data as your own, or remove attribution our documentation requires; or
  • use AI interfaces to obtain output you then present as advice from us.

06Oracle data and no advice

Our data is derived from third-party sources that we do not control. It may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate or unavailable, and sources may disagree. We surface staleness, source counts and deviations where we can, but you are responsible for deciding whether any value is fit for your purpose, especially where it governs settlement, liquidation or payment.

Nothing we publish, return from an API or say through an AI interface is investment, financial, legal or tax advice, or an offer or solicitation to buy or sell any asset. Digital assets are volatile and you may lose what you put in.

07Fees

Much of the service is free at anonymous or free-tier limits. Where a feature carries a fee, the fee and what it covers are stated at the point of use or in a written agreement, and are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. Blockchain network fees are paid by you to the network, not to us, and are outside our control.

08Transactions and wallets

Some interfaces build blockchain transactions, such as token transfers or swaps, and return them unsigned. We never hold your private keys and cannot sign, submit, reverse or recover a transaction. Before you sign anything, verify the recipient, amount, token contract and network yourself. Blockchain transactions are irreversible once confirmed, and a transaction sent to the wrong address or on the wrong network cannot be recalled by us or anyone else.

A quote is a snapshot. Prices, routes and fees can change between the quote and your signature, and a quote past its expiry must be requested again rather than signed.

09Third-party services

The services depend on and link to third parties we do not control: blockchains, oracle networks, exchanges, RPC providers, wallets, swap aggregators, AI assistants and their plugin directories. Their terms and privacy policies govern your use of them. We are not responsible for their availability, accuracy or conduct.

10Intellectual property

We and our licensors own the services, including software, designs, documentation, trademarks and the compilations of data we produce. Open-source components are licensed under their own terms, which prevail for those components. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive licence to use the services as these terms and our documentation allow. Feedback you give us may be used without obligation to you.

11Disclaimers

The services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant that any price, event outcome or other value is correct, timely or suitable for any use.

12Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, digital assets or goodwill, arising from or related to the services, however caused and under any theory of liability, even if advised of the possibility. Our total liability for all claims in any twelve-month period will not exceed the greater of the fees you paid us in that period and one hundred US dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to the extent permitted.

13Indemnity

You will defend, indemnify and hold us and our affiliates, officers, employees and agents harmless from claims, damages, losses and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the services, your content or data, your transactions, or your breach of these terms or applicable law.

14Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Squidlor operating entity is established, without regard to conflict of law rules, and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any competent court. Before bringing a claim, contact us at [email protected] and allow thirty days for us to try to resolve it informally.

15Suspension and termination

You may stop using the services at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, revoke keys, or restrict features where we reasonably believe you have breached these terms, where required by law, or to protect the services or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive, including 6 and 10 to 14, survive termination.

16Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the services and the law change. We will revise the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, give prominent notice before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance of the revised terms.
